Water coming through the ceilingA leak is rarely where the stain is
Usually a slipped or cracked tile, tired lead round a chimney, or a blocked valley. Water runs along the felt and timbers before it shows, so the drip can be a metre or two from the cause.
We trace it from the roof side, photograph what we find and fix the cause, not the stain. If it’s still pouring, we make it watertight first.

Slipped or missing tilesOne slipped tile lets the rain in underneath
Nails rust through, frost lifts tiles and the Fylde wind does the rest. The gap lets rain onto the felt, and over a winter that rots the battens.
We refix or replace the tiles or slates to match, and check the ones around them so you’re not calling us back after the next gale.
Most tile and slate repairs are done in a single visit.

Blown tiles, fallen gutters or a damaged chimney. Every hour it’s open, more water gets in.
Ring the 24-hour line. We sheet or tarp the roof to stop the water, photograph everything for your insurer, then quote the proper repair once it’s safe.

Old felt cracks and blisters in the sun, and water that sits in puddles works its way through joints and edges.
If the deck is sound, we repair it. If it’s had its day, we quote a new flat roof and talk you through the options.

Loose ridge tilesCrumbling mortar along the ridge
Ridge and hip tiles sit on mortar that cracks with age and weather. Loose ones can lift in high winds.
We rebed them in fresh mortar or fit a dry-fix ridge system, which is screwed down and doesn’t rely on mortar at all.

Overflowing gutters or rotten fasciasWater pouring over the gutter
Blocked or sagging gutters, or rotten wooden fascias behind them. Left alone, it soaks the walls and can get into the roof edge.
We clear and refix what can be saved, or fit new uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering that won’t need painting.

From a midnight storm call in Cleveleys to a full re-roof in Lytham St Annes.
Lost a load of tiles in the storm at 11pm. Rang the 0800 number expecting a voicemail and got Jamie. He had it tarped by 7 the next morning and fixed properly two days later. Sent us the photos for the insurance too.
Had a damp patch on the bedroom ceiling for months and two other roofers wanted to sell us a new roof. Jamie went up, found a cracked lead flashing round the chimney and sorted it in a morning. No leak since.
New rubber roof on the garage and back extension. Tidy job, turned up when he said.
Jamie re-roofed our semi in four days. He sent photos of the old battens so we could see why it needed doing, the price never moved and the drive was swept every night. The new roof looks brilliant.
Our chimney was dropping bits of mortar into the garden. Jamie repointed it, put new lead on and showed us before and after photos on his phone before he left. Really reasonable price and a lovely lad.
Rotten wooden fascias replaced with white uPVC and all new guttering. Quote was in writing the day after he came out and the work matched it exactly.
Asked Jamie to look at a roof on a house we were buying. He sent a proper photo report the same afternoon, which helped us knock some money off. Honest about what did and didn’t need doing.

It depends on the job and how we get up there, so we don’t guess over the phone. Jamie looks at the roof, shows you photos of what’s wrong and gives you a fixed price in writing. The quote is free and there’s no pressure to book.
Do you charge to come out?
No. Looking at the roof and quoting is free. There’s no call-out charge for storm emergencies either.
Can you help with a home insurance claim?
Yes. For storm damage we take photos of everything before and during the work and put them in a report you can send straight to your insurer. How a storm damage claim works.
Do you really answer at night?
Yes, the storm line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 0800 955 1002. It’s free from mobiles and landlines. For planned work, office enquiries are Monday to Saturday.
Do I need a new roof, or can it be repaired?
